In Memory of Eugenio (English)
Eugenio, our baby, was diagnosed with an ATRT tumor at just four months old, in August 2025.
His journey through this illness was filled with incredibly difficult challenges for someone so young. He went through two major tumor resection surgeries , they were never able to remove it completely due to its location and the risks involved, he endured multiple surgical procedures to place and remove a port catheter, the placement of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt, and an Ommaya reservoir, he had several cerebrospinal fluid taps, and underwent many sedations for imaging studies such as CT scans and MRIs, there were countless needle sticks for lab tests and blood transfusions, as well as intrathecal and peripheral chemotherapy, he spent five months in the pediatric intensive care unit.
And even through everything he was facing, our baby always had the most beautiful attitude, always smiling, with a unique and radiant gaze, he has the most beautiful eyes we have ever seen.
Eugenio was incredibly strong, resilient, and joyful, with a deep desire to live, he was, without a doubt, the bravest baby.
Eugenio touched so many hearts, all his nurses, doctors, and everyone who met him loved him deeply.
He loved being with his family, especially with his brother. They were the best partners in crime and best friends.
Feeding was sometimes a challenge, but his favorite purée was melon, and he enjoyed it so much.
Eugenio was such a loving little boy. He adored hugs and kisses, being carried, gentle cuddles, and always having someone by his side in his room. He never liked being alone, he loved falling asleep to music and having us talk to him.
Eugenio, your life was full of purpose, we are so grateful that you came into our family.
We miss you always and love you with all our hearts.
Until we meet again, our little one.
