Jace

Jace was diagnosed at just 3 weeks old with a spinal tumor, followed by the discovery of a secondary tumor on his kidney. After both tumors and his kidney were bravely removed, he underwent two rounds of chemotherapy, then three rounds of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue. He completed proton radiation to his back and abdomen in the summer of 2020.

In February 2021, Jace relapsed in his cerebellum. The tumor was removed, and he received a dose of radiation. Despite facing significant nerve damage from his original spinal tumor that affected his ability to walk or crawl, Jace never let anything stop him from exploring the world with an unyielding spirit.

As of July 2022, Jace continued to receive chemotherapy at home, handling it with remarkable strength. He was looking forward to starting preschool and loved being in his wheelchair, going so fast!

Unfortunately Jace faced new tumors after his third birthday, but he bravely fought them, achieving remission once again. School became one of his favorite things.

In his last months, Jace endured immense challenges. He experienced frequent nosebleeds and faced multiple hospital admissions. His fight intensified as leukemia cells were found in his blood, not just his bone marrow. By November 2024, Jace's leukemia was tragically uncontrollable.

Despite the escalating battle, Jace's indomitable spirit shone through. In January 2025, his family made a memorable trip to Disney. Soon after, Jace's leukemia took over, and he began to decline. He was given 2-4 weeks to live. But Jace, with his incredible will to live, held on, fighting bravely until he took his last breath on February 25, 2025.

Jace's journey was one of incredible courage, resilience, and joy. His bright spirit touched everyone who knew him, and he continues to inspire us all.
