Noah

Noah Fye was an ATRT warrior defined by pure courage. During his journey, there was not a day he did not at least attempt to get up and play. His incredible spirit continues to inspire all who knew him and is the enduring legacy of his short but meaningful life.

The Diagnosis

Noah’s journey with ATRT began after four stressful emergency room visits within eight days, following a period of unusual behavior and quickly declining health.

The initial symptoms started with a faint arm and leg tremor on one side that would come and go. It was so faint that his family initially questioned if it was truly happening. Shortly after, Noah started acting depressed and only wanted his mother to hold him day and night. When he couldn’t be held, he would lie next to her on the floor in the fetal position. He began sleeping excessively and eventually did not want to get out of his crib.

Their local hospital initially attributed his severe symptoms to simple constipation, sending them home multiple times with Tylenol and suppositories, even after a two-day hospital admission where symptoms had not subsided. After returning home and experiencing a sudden instance of vomiting and eye squinting, his mother immediately took him back to the ER for the fourth time on March 29, 2025.

At the hospital, after being told blood work offered no neurological indication, Noah's mother finally insisted: "Are you sure this is not neurological?" A doctor subsequently ordered a CT scan, which immediately revealed a brain tumor. Noah and his mother were careflighted from their hometown to UCSF, where he underwent surgery the next day. A few days later, they received the devastating diagnosis: ATRT.

The Fight and the Wins

Noah’s tumor was supratentorial, and surgeons achieved a total resection, resulting in a localized diagnosis. He did not have the germline mutation. After nine days at UCSF, he was released home and began the ACNS0333 protocol about four weeks later.

He went through two rounds of induction chemo, followed by high-dose chemo and a transplant. Despite the intensity of the treatment, Noah had consistent wins: recent follow-up scans and lumbar punctures all showed no evidence of disease—his family’s new favorite words.

Noah never let treatment truly slow him down. Even on sick days, he sucked it up and looked forward to playing with his older sister, Zoey, who visited him every day. The wins he had, given the circumstances, were what gave his family constant hope.

The Final Days

Tragically, only three weeks after returning home from his third and final round of high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplant, Noah began displaying severe mobility and pain issues. An emergency MRI revealed that his cancer had metastasized, showing a new brain tumor and multiple spots in his spine. The plan to start radiation had to be canceled.

Noah underwent another emergency brain surgery, and an Ommaya Reservoir was placed. However, following this surgery, the disease proved too aggressive, and Noah never truly recovered. His family made the courageous decision to bring him home, where he began receiving comfort care during his final days.

Our hearts were shattered by the news that our fierce ATRT Warrior, Noah, gained his angel wings on November 8, 2025.

We send all our love, prayers, and deepest sympathies to Noah’s grieving family and loved ones. Forever, we will remember and honor Noah and his courageous fight.

Noah’s family would like to thank Renown Medical Center (Dr. Zucker and his team) and UCSF (Dr. Reddy and her team) for giving them eight months of hope with Noah. Though the hospital time was difficult, they are grateful for the happy memories made there as a family.

We send endless gratitude for every moment Noah fought and for the light he brought to everyone he met.

They also offer deep gratitude to the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, who held their hand through this journey and alleviated financial burdens, and to Hope4ATRT. “𝑊𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑛𝑜 𝑜𝑛𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎 𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑟𝑢𝑒𝑙 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒.”
