Arlen

After a seizure in January 2024, followed quickly by left-sided weakness, particularly in his leg, Arlen underwent an MRI in February 2024 that revealed a 7 cm ATRT-MYC tumor in his brain.

He was immediately transported to London for surgery, where doctors successfully performed a gross total resection. Following the EU-RHAB protocol, Arlen completed 10 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of Proton Beam Therapy like a superhero. Remarkably, he maintained his energy and appetite throughout treatment, completing the full protocol with no delays in just 6 months. Arlen finished just in time to celebrate his 3rd birthday at home.

Arlen has continued to be our hero since the end of his treatment and is now celebrating 2 years in remission, with his latest scan showing no evidence of disease. Arlen has grown into a resilient, confident, and happy child who spreads joy wherever he goes. Throughout his journey, the family was supported by an incredible oncology team, along with his Beads of Courage, "Ollie the Brave," and a patchwork blanket from Project Linus, which provided comfort and motivation.
