Harper
11 Months Old
Harper’s Story
Shared by her loving family
Harper is one of our twin girls, born in April 2025, and from the very beginning she has shown us what strength looks like.
She entered the world alongside her twin sister, Piper, instantly filling our home with twice the laughter, twice the noise, and twice the love. Piper is full of energy and curiosity, always on the move and already trying to take her first steps. Harper has always carried a gentler presence, watching the world around her with bright eyes and a quiet sweetness that melts hearts.
Together, the girls are the center of our family’s world. They also have a proud big brother, Skylar, who has stepped into his role as protector and encourager in ways that only a big brother can.
For the first months of life, everything seemed like the normal rhythm of raising twin babies—bottles, naps, milestones, and the beautiful chaos that fills a home with little ones.
Then in mid-February 2026 we began noticing that something wasn’t quite right with Harper.
What started as small concerns quickly led to tests, scans, and a moment that changed our lives forever. Doctors discovered a tumor deep in Harper’s brain that was causing dangerous pressure and hydrocephalus. Within days, she was in surgery while a team of neurosurgeons worked carefully to remove as much of the tumor as possible.
When the pathology results returned, we received a diagnosis that no parent ever expects to hear: Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT), a rare and aggressive pediatric brain cancer.
Harper’s surgeons were able to remove a large portion of the tumor, but not all of it could be safely taken out. She now has a VP shunt to help relieve pressure in her brain, and the next phase of her journey will include intensive chemotherapy and stem cell support as doctors fight the remaining cancer cells.
The road ahead will not be easy.
But if there is one thing we have already learned about Harper, it is that she is incredibly strong.
Even after brain surgery, tubes, monitors, and everything her small body has endured, she continues to show a quiet resilience that humbles us. She is still here. Still fighting. Still our beautiful little girl.
In the midst of this storm, we have also witnessed something extraordinary.
Our family has been surrounded by an outpouring of love that we never expected. Friends, neighbors, family members, churches, and even complete strangers have stepped forward to pray, encourage, and support us. Messages have come from across the country. Meals have been delivered. Fundraisers have been organized. People we have never met have lifted Harper up in prayer.
In moments when the weight of this journey feels overwhelming, that love reminds us that we are not walking this road alone.
Our faith has become our anchor through it all.
There are many questions we still don’t have answers to, but we believe with all our hearts that God walks beside Harper through every surgery, every treatment, and every moment ahead. We trust that even in the hardest chapters, He is still writing her story.
Right now, our focus is simple: to take this journey one day at a time and give Harper every opportunity to overcome this disease.
She may only be a baby, but Harper is already teaching us what courage looks like.
And she is not fighting alone.
Our prayer is that Harper’s story not only brings hope to our family, but also helps raise awareness for ATRT and supports the research that will one day lead to better treatments—and ultimately a cure—for every child facing this battle.
With faith as our anchor and hope in Harper’s fight,
Jonathan, Courtney, Skylar, Piper & Harper
