Thiago
Age 2
Thiago was diagnosed with ATRT at just 10 months old after his family noticed head and neck tilting and constant vomiting. Despite the gravity of his diagnosis, he has proven to be the most resilient boy, a strong and brave warrior who continues to share his smile and laughter with everyone around him.
A Journey of Immeasurable Strength
Throughout his journey, Thiago has demonstrated a level of strength that is truly immeasurable. His brave fight has included two rounds of induction chemotherapy, 28 rounds of proton radiation, two brain tumor resection surgeries, one round of high-dose chemotherapy with a stem cell rescue, an EVD placement, and an Ommaya Reservoir placement.
His family feels deeply blessed for each day they have with him. Despite everything he has endured, Thiago’s joyful personality shines through. He loves his family, especially his big brother Liam, and spends his days playing with balls, dancing to music, and exploring the worlds of Bluey, Paw Patrol, and Cars.
The Path to Maintenance
Thiago is currently entering a significant new stage of his journey. On January 7th, 2026, he will begin maintenance chemotherapy. To prepare for this, he recently had an Ommaya Reservoir placed to allow chemotherapy to be delivered directly into his cerebrospinal fluid.
Even with the intensity of these treatments, Thiago has not stopped playing, talking, and learning new things. His family continues to soak up every experience, living out answered prayers from last year as they enjoy life together at home.
A Future of Hope
As they move into this next phase, Thiago’s family remains rooted in their convictions. "We are hoping that with maintenance chemo we can finally say that our boy is cancer free," they shared. "We will continue to put our faith in God."
We join Thiago’s family in praying for strength and healing. We are so honored to have this brave boy and his family as part of our community.
